Sunday Lunch- Maharaja Thali @ Namo Thali

‘Namo Thali’ – a newly opened one of the Best Veg Restaurant in Pune that offers thali with authentic Taste of Rajasthani & Gujarati food.

The Big Maharaja Thali 🙂

We had ordered ‘Maharaja Thali’ which offered different options of food items and was quite a filler for one person. Coming at only Rs 270/- the thali is definitely value for money. We were served some 3 desserts (Gulabjamun, moong daal halwa & churma), 6 Sabjis (Gatte ki sanji, aloo ki sabji, paneer ki sabji, daal, chole & kadi), 3 Rotis (Chappati, Parantha & Meethi ki roti) along with Salad, Chas, Bhajiya & Dhokla.

The food tasted more like home cooked with minimum of oil and spices. During our conversation with one of the restaurant owners over lunch- Mr. Govind Sadani who hails from Kolkata, told us about how well chefs are trained in cooking Marwari & Gujarati food at their restaurant. The entire thali offers 70% of Marwari & 30% of Gujarati food items. The entire team of chefs have come from Kolkata. The team specializes in preparing food without garlic and onion.  There are around 200 food items which they serve over a menu of 15 days. Each day there is a new menu in thali.

In thali, i definitely have found my favourites which include-  daal, methi ki roti, paneer kisabji, moong daal ka halwa and Chas. Simply mouth watering!

If we talk about the ambience, yes it was indeed a pleasant one with Rajasthani music played at the background for all the foodies to enjoy their meals. There is also a photobooth created for all foodies who which to pose and get clicked in Rajasthani Pagris and create some lifetime memories.
