Italy Via Punjab – The new age fusion eatery in the town!

As the name suggests, the place offers a fusion food menu – Italian & Punjabi. Nestled in the prime location at NIBM, ‘Italy via Punjab’ is easy to find and pocket friendly restaurant.

The place offers 2-3 different set ups of dining place to chose from. The interiors have been given a touch of desi style with carts used as one of the tables, barrels turned into wash basin, quirky and eye-catchy frames. Menu offers fusion in almost all the categories of – starters, maincourse and desserts from cuisines – Indian, Italian, Continental, European, Mughlai.

 

 

Since it was a windy night, we chose to sit outside and enjoy our meal. We started with starters wherein we ordered – Chicken Tikka da Bruschetta, Fish goujans & Butter chicken pasta with naans. For mains, it was – Murg Dhaniawala with steamed rice and naan & Prawn koliwada ki biryani. Mr. Nanad (The owner ) was also very helpful in telling us about signature dishes of the restaurant.

  • Chicken Tikka da Bruschetta

It is the regular chicken tikka which is served in a different style. The tikka is laid well on garlic bread, topped with mozzarella cheese, tomato and basil.

  • Fish goujans

Being an ardent lover of fish, I truly loved the taste of fish goujans. One of my reasons to visit the place again 🙂 Served with honey mustard sauce and lemon, the basa fish was fried to the perfection.  The presentation of the starter was equally an eye-catcher.

  • Butter chicken pasta with naans

The penne pasta had a very spicy and Punjabi taste. The shredded chicken was very tender. The naan which was served with the pasta instead of the bread was equally tasty. Infact, it added a new flavour to the pasta. Quite an innovative way of serving pasta in Punjabi style!

 

  • Murg Dhaniawala

Chicken gravy and steamed rice has always been my favourite combination. This time too I opted for it. Chicken Dhaniawala had a perfect taste with ‘Dhaniya’ being one of the prominent spices. The gravy was thick and chicken was juicy.

 

  • Masala Chai Pannacotta

Till now, you must have had masala chai in the old and regular form. How about having it  in a frozen form with help of a spoon? Yes, foodies this restaurant offers a unique dessert which is prepared with condensed milk by adding masala chai flavour. It has got a very unique taste, hence highly recommended for all chai lovers.

 

  • Baked Dahi

Another dessert that caught my attention on the menu card was – Baked dahi. I gave it a try after knowing from Mr. Nanad how it is been prepared. It is basically the yoghurt that is baked along with sugar and then refrigerated.

 

With a wide variety at an affordable price, Tummy Cravings highly recommends ‘Italy via Punjab’ to all foodies in the town.
